Edit (1/26/20): I have now updated this meme to 65 Pokemon Girls.

Top 50 Pokémon Girls

Disclaimer: There might be spoilers down below. Read at your own risk.

65: Alanna

The character of the day featured in the season 6 episode "A Poke-Block" party. A fairly entertaining episode, with Alanna being amused by the King of Tricks antics, she was certainly quirky.

64: Lily

Certainly, who could forget the character who turned Ash into a Pikachu? :XD: Episode is called "Hocus Pokemon" in case you were wondering. A highlight moment like that certainly puts her on the list.

63: Liza

The one who took Ash's Charizard into her care to make him an even better badass. :D

62: Suzy

Remember when Brock had Vulpix? Well, it was hers, is hers again. She was a nice character from a memorable season 1 episode.

61: Cissy

The first of the four Orange Island gym leaders with an interesting stipulation. Imagine being a trainer, it would be a lot of fun challenging her gym.

60: Clair

A badass dragon type gym leader surely deserves a spot.

59: Nia

Just got into Pokken and while her comments get repetitive, she can come off as amusing sometimes.

58: Pike Queen Lucy

After so many seasons, looks like Brock finally caught a break in having a girl have feelings for him. Even if it was just for his eyes.

57: Duplica

From the first season episode, “Ditto’s Mysterious Mansion”, it was quite an entertaining episode and Duplica captured part of the charm. I loved when she joined Ash and the gang in mocking Team Rocket’s motto and she thanked Team Rocket for perfecting Ditto’s transformation. Also got to give her credit in spotting the fake switch Team Rocket tried to pull.

56: Tyra

From the episode “The Bridge Bike Gang”. I love her design and had one, in my opinion, one of the funniest moments in the anime. Brock tried to propose to her and she slapped him across the room.

55: Acerola

A new character from the Sun + Moon games, she didn’t stick out to me like some of the other trial captains did but she was still cool enough to add to this list.

54: Iris’s Emolga

What a diva she was, huh? While Oshawott and Tepig had a rivalry, she had a rivalry with Snivy. I love the scene when she uses attract, I think it’s cute and I kind of ship her with Ash’s Oshawott.

53: Lusamine

Wow. Finally a female boss villain! I was wondering if we were going to get one when generation seven came out. When Guzma was revealed it didn’t look lightly but the Aether Foundation was a nice secret. I had a feeling something was up with them playing through and was cool to see my hunch was right. Lusamine could’ve been higher if she didn’t seem so cartoon like evil, but she was still nice to see.

52: Blissey

I loved the episode “Ignorance is Blissey”. It gave development to Jessie and it was adorable seeing this Blissey bring the goodness out of Jessie. It was also funny how stupid she was; like not reading a book properly, and giving the food from the Pokémon Center to Team Rocket.

51: Bianca

A high spunk character, she had a great contrast with Cheren, and in the anime had a rather amusing running gag of pushing Ash into water. Despite being the easy rival in the game, it’s nice she cares deeply about her Pokémon.

50: Ursula

Who doesn’t love a petty antagonist? I thought she came a bit too late in the show, but she was still a good antagonist rival for Dawn.

49: Latias

Got to love Latias and Latios and Latias is the female of the duo, so of course she’s got to come here. A must have Pokémon.

48: Roxanne

Not my most favorite among the gym leaders in the games, but she had a pretty interesting role in the anime. Having Ash go through and learn iron tail in his preparation for the gym; also hosted Max’s first battle.

47: Jeanette Fisher

Who could forget her Bellsprout on steroids? Just when it looked like Ash would sweep her after defeating a tough Beedrill and Scyther out comes a Bellsprout and it reks Bulbasaur and Pikachu. She definitely gave a memorable episode, so she belongs in my favorite girls list.

46: Burgundy

Like I said with Ursula about a petty rival, take Burgundy and multiply it by at least ten. I loved when all of Ash’s Pokémon attacked her and then made Cilan look evil through an exaggerated flashback. Perhaps my favorite moment though was when she tried sneaking in an elite connoisseur meeting and not only getting spotted but later getting blasted off Team Rocket style.

45: Prima

Loved her (banned) episode in the anime when Ash was running his mouth and she just ignored him and focused on the calm beach. Jynx hasn’t appeared much before then, and certainly not since, but it was one of my favorite episodes, and one of the oldest I remember.

44: Winona

I love her getup. Also, got to add on the Hoenn gym leaders as much I can and I also love Fortree City. It’s so creative!

43: Alexa

Her Pokémon were pretty fun in the anime, also helping her up on this list is a rper I’ve had fun with. It’s about time a reporter in the game has been given some kind of character.

42: Lana

I loved her trial in the game and she’s a water captain and completes it all with awesome blue hair. She also has a Popplio in the anime, so I’ll see how that goes in the show too. Hopefully she’s a great character there.

41: Mallow

She definitely had personality. I love at the end of her trial she gets everyone to eat and Lana and Kiawe run away because it’s too spicy. I guess not everyone has taste.

40: Korrina

Got to have the skater chick on here. I loved roller skating when I was a kid, and she had an awesome gym that you can perform tricks.

39: Flannery

It was always funny seeing her yell everything. I also noted how she actually has an awesome Torkoal.

38: Whitney

Who could forget her Miltank and rollout? She swept through Ash’s team with just that move. Losing to a Miltank? Yikes. If you get remembered through a meme, I think you belong here.

37: Erika

She had an interesting gym, and also very memorable from the anime. I loved how it was not only enough to kick Ash out, but she had to put a giant, red ‘X’ on his face. Also, her episode started the running gag of Ash dressing up like a girl for a while.

36: Lillie

Yay! She heals your Pokémon up a lot! She also gives you some elixers too so that’s awesome. I would’ve had her higher up though I felt she kind of took over the story a little bit. Like before you could explore a little while before ending up back into the main story, but when Lillie “got brave” it was at the end of virtually every path until you got into another cutscene. Still, I love her in the beginning of the game, with Cosmog. It was really cute.

35: Valerie

I think my favorite gym battle in the XY anime series because it gave Hawlucha a chance to shine and that made Valerie stand out to me more. Not to mention, just look at her design, and she belongs on this list.

34: Emma

You just got to love the post games at the end. She had a fun one. Trying to find a job and you ended up chasing around someone stealing Pokémon, which turned out to be her, brainwashed and in an awesome costume, known as Essentia. Later, you beat Xerosic and everything is back to normal. I love her Espurr, Mimi, too, she’s adorable.

33: Ramona

“The Stolen Stones” is perhaps my favorite filler episode in the Pokémon anime. Riding an Arcanine makes you pretty cool in my book, and she owns two of them.

32: Koharu
The new girl from the new series, I really like her close friendship with Go when they were kids. I like that her fellow Pokemon is a Yamper and I look forward to see how the show uses her more moving forward.

31: Courtney

Team Magma has always been my favorite villain team in the Pokémon games. I love their logos, their attire, Groudon, just about everything. Courtney had quite to her character. She definitely had a lot more development in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire games; including having a bit of a thing for Maxie and had some funny lines.

30: Bea

The fighting gym leader in Pokemon Sword, an exclusive gym leader. She's got a nice attitude, nice design, and was a fun opponent to face off in during the league finals!

29: Rosa

It's been a lot of fun creating headcanons around the Pokemon playable characters and Rosa hasn't been an exception.

28: Nurse Joy

I’ll always be amused on how they all look alike, such as during the Pokémon League when a bunch of them were running around and Brock remembered all of them. The Nurse Joys also always know when to call out trainers like the Dewford Town one did to Ash after pushing Treecko and another one to May when she tried to push Bulbasaur.

27: Officer Jenny

I think what makes me put Officer Jenny ahead slightly is the blue hair. That and I’m pretty sure the running gag of seeing that they look alike started with them first. Again, Brock shined during the Pokémon League with that. Still, it would be nice if they could be given more screentime every now and again. There was a small Magmortar arc that did, so that was nice.

26: Gloria

The new girl player from Pokemon Sword and Shield games. I like her design and a lot of her fanart; I think her and Victor make great contrasts, perhaps my favorite since Hilda and Hilbert back in Gen V.

25: Diane

Jirachi’s Wishmaker is probably my favorite Pokémon movie in part because of how developed Diane and Butler had. I loved the scene when she explained Butler’s backstory to May and how she tried to get Jirachi and the gang away when Butler tried to capture Jirachi and how she helped him reform in the end. She’s certainly one-half of one of my favorite villain couples although you could argue how much of a villain she was, the beginning still counts enough for me.

24: Sabrina

Definitely her anime counterpart takes the cake in this. A case of early installment weirdness for sure; you’ll never see a character like her in the anime again. I loved this psychotic character. She makes “Go…Kadabra” so epic. She was scarier than Giovanni. Of course her creepy doll was icing on the cake on how it tried to “play” with Ash, Misty, and Brock.

23: Zinnia

Post-ORAS is awesome! Zinnia, of course is the one who leads you to the awesome legendary Pokémon, Rayquaza. Some of her dialogue with Whismur (“Aster”) was pretty funny and I can never forget the part where she runs into Team Magma’s base and slaps around Courtney and Maxie. That part made me laugh out loud.

22: Zoey

A rival certainly done right. She definitely deserved to get Top coordinator after helping Dawn out throughout the Diamond and Pearl series. Helping her get out of her depression and informing her on the different styles of appeals. One of the things I liked about her was she was initially against trainers doing both gyms and contests. Something I could understand would probably feel myself if I was in the Pokémon world so it made her that more real of a character to me.

21: Nessa

The water type gym leader in Pokemon Sword and Shield. I love her design and her gym. She definitely earns quite a high spot on this list after her debut!

20: Ash’s Snivy

Of all of Ash’s Pokémon to not evolve in the Black and White series, I was surprised the most by Snivy not evolving. I definitely think she deserved it, taking the role of Team Mom. She stepped in to break the fights from Oshawott and Tepig, helped Tepig in his battle against Shamus and didn’t take any of Emolga’s shit. Yay Snivy!

19: Serena’s Sylveon

She was really cute as a Eevee and she kept her cuteness as a Sylveon. She definitely shined on Serena’s team. I thought it was cool how she uses her long ribbons behind her ear to catch Serena from falling in that one showcase.

18: Liza

One of the forgotten characters I overlooked when I did this meme and it’s few times I updated it. Who doesn’t like twins? Her and Tate had a unique gym battle, being the only ones so far to compete in a double battle for a badge. I liked her portrayal in the anime too, acting as an older sister despite being the same age as Tate, annoying him. Also, having a nice bond moment with May and teaming up with her on Team Rocket was awesome.

17: Marnie

If I had to pick a new favorite girl from the Pokemon Sword and Shield games I would definitely pick Marnie, the goth girl from Spikemuth. I liked bumping into her the most of the rivals, and she even enjoys having you around post-game, and you can battle her daily.

16: Leaf

Took me quite awhile to put her on this list. A bit too late, really. ^^; But this time I remembered to add her. One of my favorite designs for a female character, and of course the other half to BurningLeafShipping.

15: Hilda

As I said with Rosa, I've enjoyed creating headcanons for a lot of BW characters despite never actually playing a game myself. Hilda had a bit more of an advantage for me to come up with stuff, so she's higher on the list. As I mentioned I like BurningLeafShipping in Leaf's spot, thought I'd throw it in there that I also like ChessShipping. :)

14: Caroline

One of the things I like about the Hoenn games is that you have a set of parents. A mother and father, and the anime kept this. I loved how she always supported May in her Grand Festival and supports Norman in his gym battles.

13: Professor Juniper

Definitely was nice to see a female professor for once. I wish she was seen more in the anime for sure, but that would require me wishing there was a bit of focus on other characters not Ash and the gang.

12: Shauna

Like, Lillie, she also heals your Pokémon quite a bit. Also, like Bianca, she chooses the weak starter to face off against yours. There was a neat scene at the mansion in the game, and I also like her anime counterpart as well. I loved watching her and Serena compete in the showcases and she got as far as she could before putting Serena over.

11: Delia

It’s a shame she only shows up for about the first or last episodes of the sagas nowadays where in the beginning she had more prominence. She had some funny moments in the first season, and is always a supportive mom.

10: Iris

Might not be my favorite of Ash’s travel companions, but she’s certainly still up there overall. One of her earliest moments was showing concern for Tepig when Ash and her found him malnourished. She also has touching moments with Axew, like the Bouffalant episode where Axew got separated and she scolded Tepig and Oshawott for acting childish.

9: Dawn

Got to love how much support she gave Ash throughout the Diamond and Pearl series. After he lost to Paul, she tried to cheer him and his Pokémon up by putting on a show. I also loved how easily annoyed she got whenever Kenny was around, yet despite that she still saw him as a high friend and always wished him success.

8: Serena’s Braixen

My favorite female Pokémon of the anime series to date. Braixen is one of my favorite second stage, out of three stage Pokémon there is (behind Haunter and Prinplup) to begin with so the fact she didn’t evolve into Delphox helped out a bit in assigning her number 7. I also think she had a bit more personality than the other female Pokémon on here. I loved her as a Fennekin, teaming up with Pancham, and then evolving and having Sylveon join up. She’ll be missed indeed.

7: May’s Skitty

Who could hate this Skitty? She was so cute chasing her own tail and she proved to be quite the reliable Pokémon too in May’s contests. “Nya, nya”. Skitty sure had lots of energy, sometimes overwhelming the gang.

6: Bonnie

She was the chance to make up some of the missed opportunities Max left with from the Advanced series. For one thing, the writers gave her a few Pokémon to actually travel around with so they didn’t have to do the whole “not old enough” thing every focus episode. Speaking of which, the one where she’s stuck with Meowth is one of my favorite XY episodes. I thought she got along with him real well.

5: Jessie

While Jessie and Meowth showed their redeeming qualities first, I remember feeling bad for Jessie in “Princess vs Princess” which was one of the first episodes I ever saw after buying the “Purrfect Hero” VHS which featured this that as the first episode. Later, her reactions to Wobbuffet never got old, sometimes the highlight of the episode. She’s developed a few times since then such as the mentioned Blissey episode and later finding some success in coordinating and performing.

4: Casey

One of the most memorable recurring characters in the early seasons for me, I loved how she was a sports fan like I was. Another thing I liked about her was her love for black and yellow (one of my favorite hockey teams wears that combo), she certainly left a lasting impression on me. Let’s hope the Electabuzz baseball team has found success after all these years.

3: Serena

I thought her backstory with Ash was adorable and unique, having met him before their respective journeys. I definitely developed with Amourshipping being my OTP for the anime series; coincidentally, Ash is also number 3, on the boys list. I loved watching her showcases, and developing to be her own character. Also, seeing as how both Braixen and Sylveon are on here, with Pancham being on my top boys list, she naturally got a high pick.

2: May

I never saw her as a “replacement Misty” like some criticized her in the early days. I liked she did her own thing and introduced the anime series to their unique take on Pokémon Contests. While May existed in Ruby + Sapphire first, it was the anime I was introduced her to. Now with Ash being the experienced trainer with a newbie trainer it was a nice change of pace from the original series. Also, her game counterpart is sweet too. Always encouraging you and declaring you a friend when you first meet her. And, oh yeah, Hoennshipping for the win, as double coincidence, Brendan is also number 2 on the boys list. One more thing, about the anime May, she had a lot of heartwarming scenes with Max despite the times they bickered, they always made up by the end of the episode.

1: Misty

I feel I give Misty number 1 cause I think of a first come first serve kind of thing. Top three really could’ve really been anybody, but Misty definitely had her shining moments. How motherly she was with Togepi, her bickering with Ash from time to time to who could forget pulling Brock’s ear whenever he got flirty with the girls. Her send off was also the most emotional out of all the travel companions to date, I felt she had to be put up in the top spot. She had guest appearances here and there but it’s been a long time since the last. We all certainly miss her and surely wish that if the anime had more continuity that she could have some callbacks here and there. But she hasn’t even been referenced in a long time. Miss you, Misty!

And that’s my Top 65 Pokémon Girls. Who knows if this list will be extended again, but for now that’s it.
